_FREE TO DANCE CHARITY PROJECT
Poder Joven Foundation is a non-profit organization whose members are students from the local universities and young professionals. They work together to help underprivileged children in Medellin, victims of the humanitarian crisis in Colombia, by offering a chance for a better life. These children live in areas of the city where many people beg to survive and armed conflict and drug trafficking are rampant. Especially children are very susceptible to enter into a life of drugs, and often delinquency. Besides the regular education classes the school teaches the children basic care like washing hands and brushing teeth. But perhaps most important is the simple meal with vegetables and fish / meat they get every day at school, often the only meal they eat in a day. The school prevents malnutrition and related physical and mental problems. Thanks to the support of social pedagogues, doctors and psychologists are the families in the neighborhood involved with the school directly. This allows, for example, abuse and malnutrition being monitored and looking for solutions to help children with such problems. The results are there: a dozen young people adopted by the project entered college and university!
FREE TO DANCE bracelet project: The children wear creatively, consciously and proudly to their own project. The bracelet is made of the tabs of empty cans discarded in the streets of Medellin. It also has a strong clasp from Medellin with FREE TO DANCE LOGO. Everything is good about this bracelet ... .. reuse and every penny to charity: children with a better future.
It is called FREE TO DANCE because the people in Medellin always do have one thing: SALSA! Music is always there and everywhere in Colombia, it connects everyone. The FREE TO DANCE bracelet is made so that vulnerable children can stay carefree to dance!
